Construction Engineer

We are seeking a Construction Engineer in our Waukesha office. The successful candidate will help make community possible through project management, design, field observation, and reporting on a wide variety of projects.

Responsibilities and Duties

Duties for this position include but are not limited to:

  • Perform construction management and review activities to ensure that construction materials and methods meet specifications.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation.
  • Communicate project information to contractors, project managers, and municipal officials.
  • Interact with the public answering questions and addressing concerns.
  • Recommend solutions to construction-related questions/concerns or elevate them to a higher level for resolution.
  • Perform project planning and design and design on a variety of municipal infrastructure projects (primarily during the construction off-season).

Qualifications and Skills

The ideal candidate for this position will possess the following education, experience, and abilities:

  • Experience in construction, construction inspection and/or construction management.
  • Enjoys working in the municipal engineering field and enjoys working with other professionals.
  • Be self-sufficient with the ability to meet deadlines and lead project components.
  • Bachelor’s Degree (or higher) in Civil, Environmental, or Agricultural Engineering (or a related degree).
  • AutoCAD Civil 3D basic knowledge (preferred but not required).
  • Have strong communication skills and be comfortable working directly with clients and contractors.
